Park Academy provides ongoing year-round classes in subject matters pertinent to the successful stewardship of the park. The field and lab-based experiential classes are taught by professionals who not only have academic credentials, but years of on-the-ground experience. Proven methods and techniques are taught in habitat restoration as well as identifying, growing, and caring for native plants, while providing the basic science upon which these methods are based. There are also class series on the cultural history of the park, deepening participants understanding of the rich history within our park boundaries. Along with these resource-specific classes, Park Academy also offers trainings in computer-based program, safety, and career development trainings specific to field-based roles here in the park.
